El Cantante - The Movie

Simply the most anticipated movie all Salsa fans are looking forward to. To be released in the cinemas on August 1st, this is a movie starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

Directed by Leon Ichaso, This movie is about the life story of Hector Lavoe who started the salsa movement in 1975 and brought it to the United States. This movie is produced and played by Puerto Ricans (Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez) to show Hector LaVoe's glorious career and sad trajectory.

If there is a book about salsa music Hector Lavoe will be in every chapter because not only was he there during the beginning of the New Your Latin phenomenon called Salsa music but he also has influenced the career of many famous salsa singers who follow his footsteps. Hector Lavoe is well known with his contemporary such as Willie Colon with beautiful songs such as Che Che Cole, Mi Gente, Aires de Navidad, Pirana, Ah-Ah / O -No, Vive Tu Vida Contento, Rompe Saraguey, El Cantante y El Periodico de Ayer. It was and it still is electrifying. Hector's songs with hints of county music (Jibaro) from Puerto Rico touched many hearts around the world.
